manage/m®: Increased portfolio of Technical Operations WebSuite
New web service enables field-loadable software
Lufthansa Technik has implemented a new WebService within its manage/m® Technical Operations WebSuite. With the tool, “m/modification/software”, a great variety of configurations of software and hardware units that are installed on board of an aircraft can be managed and controlled. This is becoming increasingly important in relation to new aircraft types such as the Airbus A380 or the Boeing 787, as these aircraft contain more than 800 different software parts.
The new WebService enables the user to retrieve the current software configuration and look back at historic configurations as of any date. Using multiple software-to-hardware assignments, m/modification/software is able to map field-loadable software precisely, even in complex, virtualized hardware environments. This makes the WebService especially compatible with latest aircraft designs. The planning function of m/modification/software allows the central coordination of software updates for individual aircraft or entire fleets. For supporting the planning feature a variety of interfaces link m/modification/software to other WebServices and modules of the manage/m® WebSuite.
170 airlines with more than 5,500 users are working regularly with the comprehensive manage/m toolbox of 15 web-based modules for the technical operations management. The ready-to-go IT platform offers simple and quick access with a single sign-on and a user-friendly interface. The modules and WebServices accessible in the WebSuite are tailored to each individual customer’s need and the corresponding MRO agreements with Lufthansa Technik. manage/m enables the airlines to fulfill the responsibility towards the relevant aviation authorities as operators. The IT-based services for technical operations include Task scheduling & Control, Jobcards, Material Request, Maintenance Schedule, to name but a few.
